I used to rock a lot of DJ Shadow back in the day.  He was one of my favorite progressive/experimental DJ’s.  If you’re not familiar with him, he’s a Bay Area based fella who is “widely credited as a key figure in developing the experimental instrumental hip-hop style.”  I’d call it downtempo-hip-electronica-hop.  Very cool stuff.

He’s not really produced much vibrant stuff in the past few years but this remix album of his I just stumbed upon is quite good.  Very Shadow, but certainly has some newer sounds and influences mixed in.  Checkit.

And here’s one of my favorite’s of his back in the day, Midnight In A Perfect World.  This is from 1996 and it’s still a proper track.  Kinda forgotten how much I loved it.
